The Cayuga Heights History Project Mission Statement

The History Project of the Village of Cayuga Heights, under the guidance of the Municipal Historian, seeks to:

Collect

Collect house histories, personal and oral histories, diaries, letters, maps, newspapers, photographs, books, and other primary sources that document the unique history and development of the Village of Cayuga Heights.

Preserve

Preserve public and private documentary and material sources related to the history of the Village of Cayuga Heights.

Research and Interpret

Research and interpret the history of the Village of Cayuga Heights through its residents and homes, agricultural and natural heritage, architecture, and residential and commercial development.

Collaborate

Collaborate with local, county, and national historians, historical societies, museums, universities, and preservation organizations

to apply up-to-date research methods;
to understand Village history within its local, county, and national context;
to use digital technology to share Village history with a wide audience.

Share the history of the Village of Cayuga Heights through a speaker series, written histories, website, interactive mapping project, and social media.
